MIOT has achieved a unique reputation as a Trauma and Emergency Care Institution par excellence. Many years of experience in managing severely injured, poly trauma patients have made MIOT an expert in this field. In fact MIOT Hospitals is the only Trauma Centre comparable to US Level 1 Trauma Centres. International protocols are followed here.
"If you want to know the value of a minute, ask a severely injured accident victim" they say. Fully realizing that the effectiveness of trauma care lies in tapping the value of each second, emergency handling at MIOT Hospitals has been exclusively programmed to avoid wastage of time. Separate entrance for emergency patients, outpatients and inpatients avoids crowd and resultant confusion.
24 Hours MIOT Emergency Service Medicare Infrastructure
"MIOT Accident Rescue Services" ambulances, staffed with trained personnel, traverse the city, respond to
emergency calls and rush patients to MIOT. The moment an accident or trauma patient arrives, he is rushed to the Resuscitation Room located at the “24 Hours MIOT Emergency Service Medicare Infrastructure”. This infrastructure includes a fully equipped Resuscitation Room with ventilators, central venous catheters, defibrillators, ECG Machine, Mobile X-ray, and other life saving equipments and medications. It also has a special ICU with two Mini Operation Theatres.
Once the patient is stabilized, he is taken to the adjacent wash room for removal of all traces of dirt and infection and subsequently brought back to the Resuscitation Room for examination, diagnosis and treatment. Depending on the degree of injury sustained, action is taken without any loss of time. A patient with minor injuries is moved to the suture room; one that requires careful monitoring is moved to the ICU and those in need of critical surgeries are shifted to the fully equipped Emergency Operation Theatre for immediate treatment.
Trauma does not affect one part of the body only. Hence Polytrauma and Multiple fractures require a multi-disciplinary integrated approach with the involvement of many specialists. At MIOT, Trauma Surgeons and ACLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) trained paramedical staff, are available round-the-clock. Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Neurosurgeons, Craniofacial Surgeons, Spinal Surgeons, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Abdominal Surgeons, Specialist in Microsurgery, Plastic Surgeons, are all involved in the treatment of multi-system injuries. A state-of-the-art Nephrology unit which tackles renal failure in traumatized patients is a big asset.
